My name is Kendyll, and I’m an artist and commercial illustrator working in traditional media. My background is in classical oil painting, but I’ve been working as an illustrator for the past 8 years, completing assignments for Southern Living, The Wall Street Journal, and many commercial food brands.

My illustration is used in packaging, on paper goods and clothing, and in editorial applications, as well as displayed in private and corporate collections worldwide. My work has been featured in Supersonic Art, Anthology Magazine, Creative Boom, DPI Art Quarter and BuzzFeed.

I try to create work that is realistic, but still full of vibrancy and feeling. I'm probably best known for my food and botanical illustration, but I love painting people and animals too! Working with unusual combinations of media to create interesting effects is something I'm really passionate about, and I love experimenting and learning new methods! Passing on what I’ve learned is extremely fulfilling, and it's one of my favorite parts of being a full time artist.

My approach to teaching is simple: I try to breakdown and explain complex processes into bite sized concepts that can be practiced and applied to your own work. I do my best to systematically share the techniques I use and how/why they work for me in hopes that you'll be able to develop and deepen your own artistic skills.

My goal is never just to walk you through a project step by step, but to create insight and understanding of artistic principles that will be a foundation for experimentation, expertise and creative expression. In short, I want to teach you how to fish, not give you a fish.
